3D Areola & Nipple Tattooing
3D areola and nipple tattooing is an art of tattooing which uses multiple colours and techniques to recreate realistic looking areolas and nipples. It is an accurate representation of a nipple or areola that is designed to look three dimensional but is flat to touch.
The process of reconstructing breasts and is highly sought after following medical treatments such as mastectomy’s due to breast cancer. This treatment is a very special one to us and helps clients to finish their journey and gain back confidence. This treatment can be performed on flat breasts, natural breasts or reconstructed breasts as well as reconstructed nipples.

Mastectomy
People who have undergone mastectomy or double mastectomy to help create a new, realistic looking nipple. We can aim to recreate your existing areolas/nipples or we can design a new set to compliment your new reconstructed breasts.
Gender Affirming/ Top Surgery
Individuals who have undergone gender affirming/top surgery, we can create new realistic looking nipples. We can design a new shape and style for your body that you feel comfortable with.
Asymmetry
People who have asymmetrical nipples that require resizing or reshaping, or those who have naturally light areolas that would like them darkened. This may be natural or due to having breast surgery. We can add colour to the areolas to darken them, even up your shape or resize your areolas to something you are happier with.
Breast Lift or Scarring
People who have had a breast lift and have scars around the outside of their areolas. After breast lifts, some people are left with an unwanted “lollipop” scar around their areolas. Sometimes this can affect the shape and symmetry of the areolas. In this case we can either add colour to enlarge and darken the outer edge of the areola or we can use a technique called scar camouflage to blend the scarring into the surrounding skin.

Procedure and healing
As we understand everyone is on their own journey we provide thorough consultations for this treatment to discuss your expectations and ensure we are able to give you areolas that will give you the appearance of real breasts.
The initial process takes about 2 hours and includes a consultation, measurements and placement, design, tattooing and photos. The 3D illusion is created by using different shades of pigment to give highlights and shadows which can make a tattoo on flat skin look raised and realistic. The procedure is quite painless, most women have less sensation in the area due to surgery but we can use numbing cream if needed.
