About
What Are Nipple Prosthetics?
Made from high-quality, hypoallergenic silicone, our nipple prosthetics closely mimic the look and feel of real skin. Each nipple is carefully moulded to ensure a natural appearance, whether it’s created from your own pre-surgery nipple or selected from our diverse nipple donor bank for a personalised and natural appearance.
Our prosthetics are easily attached using a waterproof medical adhesive. The secure, yet gentle-on-the-skin adhesive blends seamlessly, giving you the realistic look of natural nipples—whether you’re in or out of water.

How does nipple prosthetics work?
To create your nipple prosthetic, we take an impression or mould of an existing nipple. This can be done in two ways:
Your Own Nipple:
- Bilateral Mastectomy: We take a mould before your surgery.
- Unilateral Mastectomy: A mould can be taken at any time, using your untouched breast for reference.
A Donor Nipple: If your surgery has already taken place and you don’t have any existing nipples:
- You can have a mould taken from a friend or family member of your choice.
- Alternatively, you can select a nipple from our donor bank. These generous women have donated their time to provide moulds that we use to create personalised nipples for you.
Once your mould is complete, we handcraft each prosthetic with customised colours, designs, and details to ensure it is tailored to your liking.
How do I get my mould done?
We offer two options depending on your location:
- If you are near the Sunshine Coast, QLD, you can visit our clinic, where the moulding process will take about 30 minutes.
- If you are farther away, we can send you a mould kit with easy-to-follow instructions, allowing you to take the mould at home and return it to us.
How long do nipple prosthetic last?
Our nipple prosthetics are designed for durability. With proper care, your prosthetics can last for years!
The waterproof medical adhesive used to secure them to your skin allows the prosthetics to stay in place for up to 10 days. This means you can maintain an active lifestyle—exercising, swimming, showering, and more—without disrupting the prosthetics.
Once they begin to loosen, you can easily remove them, clean them, and reapply with fresh adhesive for continued wear.
Can I claim the cost through Medicare?
Yes! Medicare offers a reimbursement program for women who have undergone breast reconstruction due to breast cancer.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to claim back the full cost of your prosthesis. We will provide you with the necessary paperwork to make your Medicare claim, and if accepted, you will be reimbursed for the cost.
